Subject: Early 2010s furniture?

Written By: cowboy on 02/02/19 at 9:55 am

Does anyone know furniture trends no longer seen now, but common in the late 2000s and early 2010s?

Anything that looks like a Dreamcatcher, Bamboo wood sticks
anything hispter looking

Like Faux eco awareness

Some stores somewhere around 2015 went minimal with just white
(think Kanye west's empty white house)

3D TVs were a pretty big trend of the early '10s of memory.
According to Wikipedia, they started vanishing in 2013 and are no longer sold or even produced as of 2018 which surprised me ???.

I used to see many hipster rooms like this on Internet in the early 2010’s. Vintage cozy style.
Now PC gamer setups and minimalists are popular

I prefer the minimalist trend of furniture and rooms today. More modern, clean, and efficient. But it's ironic because in terms of UI design I prefer skeuomorphism and more messy design.

Thanks all! I love the 40s inspired Hollywood Regency style more than Minimalism and too modern furnitures like Ikea. I find it warmer and cozier if done right. :)

I agree a lot of sites programs etc have gone to far when it comes to being minimalist.

No one cares about your decade kid obsession stuff

I remember that over-the-top framing being quite popular in the early '10s

Do people still do that? ???

Imo Ikea is ugly depressing. Then or now. Too white. Too cold. Too sterile. :P

Here warmer tones were popular in 2010-2013 like lots of pink, yellows, red walls, but also mixed with dark gray walls or furniture and some earthy ones like brown wood. Ikea though always seem similar to me. Colorless, bland and boring. :P I'm a Southern European, I need vivid, warm colors in my life and coziness. ;)

Outside orange, yellow and red walls were popular with residential buildings and blue glass with office ones. The so-called Etalbond (R) was still going strong (it's basically aluminum panel cladding for building exterior walls). It started to appear in residential buildings as well.

My family keeps it simple; we stuck to greys, browns and blacks (with white in the kitchen) in the early 2010s (with white walls obviously). I never do much wall-decorating when it comes to my room. It's plain white walls with no photos or paintings, just a plain white clock. And that's how I like it :P

That's nice for a home office, not so much for a bedroom. Too much going on.

I don't really like this black and white trend. I love more colors like in this living room. I would remove a thing or two (that flowery wallpaper's too busy) and voila - a homely cozy feeling.
