Do you agree with this videohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEJyPSId2MU&feature=youtu.be
Fixed the video for you.
Edit:
After watching the video I have to say that I do agree with him. The problem is that we have become so splintered in what we consume that there seem to be no general trends anymore (not that I would notice them anyway as I'm as far removed from pop culture as one can be without being dead).
I always wondered what defined the 2000s and 2010s. When I think back of the 50ies to 90ies certain images pop up in my mind for each decade. Be it the cars, the hair styles, the fashion and so on but after 2000 everything becomes blurred. The cars nowadays all look more or less the same (at least here) and have so for some time. The music is forgettable (that's my opinion of course your mileage may vary) and I've no idea what the current status of fashion is or was during the last 20 years (again, might just be me as there seem to be people who know what's trendy, I've just never been one of those :-X).

I couldn't disagree more. The YouTuber who made the video is probably out of touch with pop culture.

So first you admit you're completely ignorant and out-of-touch with recent pop culture, then go on a rant on how you can't find stereotypes to atribut to periods of 10 years for the last two ones??

Sometimes the internet impresses me with the most baffling kinds of logics

Well, I could find those stereotypes for the other decades. I just can't with the last two because they don't seem to exist (with exeption of SJWs and Smombies but neither really define the decades and probably won't go away within the next year anyway). ;)
That's what makes me feel out of touch with today's pop culture.

In terms of fashion, when I think of the 2000s, I think of this:

2000 is almost 20 years old and some people still act like it’s modern and nothing has changed in the interim. It’s getting old and boring. ::)
2010s are a bit harder to define because we’re still in the 2010s. It will be easier to judge the decade when we’re afew years removed from it. The whole hipster thing must be a good contender for the biggest defining factor of the decade though, even if it had its roots in the past.

HIPSTERS.
Agreed. Hipsters on one end, the EDM crowd on the other. That’s your 2010s.

Also strongly agree with this. The 2000s absolutely had an identity. Maybe not one that can be quickly and neatly defined, but if you were there, you recognize it instantly.

Well maybe try to learn and ask what is trendy and fashionable? Maybe don't be so close-headed and you'll see/find stereotypes and associations? If you don't even try or give a chance, how would you even conclude that thus "don't exist" ???
Absolutely nonsensical

Not at all, you tend not to notice any decade-defining things until some time after the decade is over.

I think this decade will primarily be remembered for three things.
1) The Great Recession and it's aftermath
2) Obama, Trump, and the culture war between the fundamentalist Christian Right and the social justice warriors.
3) The explosion of social media and smartphones

100℅ agree with you on that. People forget prior to the 2010s social media and smartphones were just a novelty.

I swear we had a thread on this video.
But anyway, trying to explain what 2010s culture is to some people is like trying to explain to a fish that it lives in water. What makes people think that the clothes we wear today, the music we listen to, the global situation we're in etc. is permanent and just 'default'? Things are always in flux.

Make a news artical on both decades. "What defines the '00s (2000-09) and '10s (2010-19)?" Music, Movies, Fashion, Tv, Politics.ect You'll have to start by spreading the word on Social Media. "The first & second decade of the 21st Century..." and go from there.
