I was born in the 90s but are a huge fan of the 70s and I would like to see some of their influences and fashion styles return.That would be cool maybe in the 2020 we could have that happen that's why I like the 90s so much because of some of the 70s influences especially in the mid-late 90s eventhough there were some 60s influences in the 90s as well.

I hope to never see elephant bells ever again.

Earthy colours are back and so are high waisted flared jeans (well, technically baggy jeans are, but you won't look out of place with flared). It's not full '70s obviously but if there was a time you could dress mostly 70s I think it's now.

Right now I'm wearing a dark orange sweater, a green jean jacket and brown leather shoes. Dark blue skinny jeans though. It looks 40%' 70s I'd say  ;D

Ehhh...of all the 20th-21st century decades, the 70s is my favorite but I want most of its fashion to stay in that decade.

Perhaps we should bring back strobe lights too?

I think it will have to, because very few people will be nostalgic for the 2000s and 2010s, and by that time the 1990s nostalgia will start fading away. I will be nostalgic for the 2000s, as will everyone here, but the majority of the general public won't and will think it's the same as today with no decade identity. For most people nostalgia ends at the 1990s. So this will make the 2020s have its own identity.

There was already a '70s fashion revival in the mid-to-late '90s.

I don't see why we need another one so soon after the first revival.

I hope not. There were some pretty awful fashions back then.

Fashion is cyclical. Of course there will be some kind of revival (not necessarily '70s). That doesn't mean it isn't unique. Fashion today looks nothing like the '90s even if we're currently having a '90s revival. The hipster look is already iconic to the 2010s, you can't accuse this decade of lacking originality. So whatever the 2020s bring, I hope like the 2010s it's a good mix of old and new.  8)

This is too much of a stretch. As someone who was there every minute of the 70s, I see NOTHING of what people looked like in the 70s in this. NOTHING. If somebody walked around like this in the 70s they would have been gawked at like they were from, well, the 40s. A wide collar or a flared leg does not the 70s make.

The problem with that cliche is nobody wore wide legged, high waisted pants in the 70s. Pants were very tight and relatively low slung, even the ones that weren't hiphuggers. Even the widest bell bottoms fit tight. If I can impress anything upon people who weren't there in the 70s is that people didn't look like they did in those foolish catalogs that everyone keeps posting here. We used to laugh at those even then. Pity the person in a high school back then if they walked around with those double knit plaid high waisted pants.
