Payphones have already been obsolete for many years now. I miss them. For some strange reason they afforded me a sense of security that a cell phone simply does not.

Technology:
-Console Gaming (Being replaced by PC Gaming or Quantum computing)
-Smartphones (Hopefully we have holograms)
-Social Media sites like Facebook and Twitter, and Instagram and Snapchat will slowly die off by 2021.
-DVD's and Blu-Ray disks (Some People still use them today)
-4G and LTE speeds
-1920x1080 screens (4K will be the next standard)
-Tablets (Hopefully be replaced by hologram)
-LCD Screens
-Non-RGB Computers (RGB is a growing trend with technology)
-Unreal Engine 4 used in games like Fortnite and Pubg (REALLY HOPE THIS ENDS)
-Classic Vending Machines (Being replaced by Coca Cola Freestyle)
-Rockstar Advanced Game Engine used in GTA 5 and RDR2
-Creation Engine used in Fallout 4 and Fallout 76
-Wired Headphones and Earbuds (Airpods are literally taking over, and yet they dont sound excellent  8-P)
-Classic lamp bulbs (Smart bulbs are taking over with Philip's Hue)
-Cable TV
-USB and SD Cards (Cloud Computing might take over if they have money)
-Passwords (Fingerprint scanners and Face unlock is taking over as it's more advanced)
-Remotes (More advanced TV might be coming soon)

I don't think PC gaming will replace consoles because both have coexisted together for over 50 years.

I don’t think the more popular social media sites, console gaming, USB or Blu-Ray discs are going away anytime soon. I still expect DVDs, classic fountain machines, SD cards and wired headphones to go away in the 2020s. I also think that the flat/minimalist design will be obsolete in the 2020s and get replaced with something new.

I hope the 2020s will be geometrical lines, or grid lines like the 80s, with a balance between black and white and color, kinda like a tumblr-inspired style, with colorful 3D objects being in the front, as well as some 1920s spice to it.

I mean 10 years ago nobody would imagine that taxis would be replaced by a cellphone app, which means the same thing could happen to supermarkets. In 2027 buying stuff on a 5G smartphone delivery app could be far more beneficial than going to a supermarket

Just because we prefer to do things a certain way, it still doesn't mean they won't become obsolete. There are LOTS of things I wish were still around that no longer are. Things I would still use if they were. Sometimes it seems these matters are entirely out of our hands. Unfortunately.

Well, it's cool to see technology getting advanced, but replacing human interaction with technology? Really? That's just cynical and depressing, because that's not gonna help the human civilization advance to a type 1 civilization, it's just gonna make people lazy. By 2050, if all homes are glass, and no social life whatsoever, you're all by yourself, that just sucks. You can see other people, but they're just on their futuristic technology, and relationships would no longer happen, so no kids, human race extinction. This is why we need to balance technology with social interaction, otherwise the world population will slowly decrease, and the birth rates are gonna slow down ever more, which is sadly gonna happen, as it is happening now.

Seeing that in 2050, I dont want technology replacing humanity.

Sadly I think the concept of owning a copy of someone else's content will be obsolete, since people find streaming far more convenient. This will be bad for all of us who are into more obscure stuff that isn't available for streaming or even downloads any more, or who have bad internet. Rdio used to be around, so if Spotify were to fall, there goes peoples' music collections.

YouTube itself is not left-wing at all and will never become that way like other social media websites.  Younger Gen Z, especially the males, are more center or right leaning and are Anti-SJW, although the girls are very left wing and SJW if not more so than their millennial counterparts. Look at the backlash videos such as "You're dating choices are discriminatory" are getting.

WHOA! Why bother replying to this when you've ANNIHILATED me with FACTS AND LOGIC!?!?!?!

But, really, you are right that youtube has a huge rightwing problem. There's a frightening amount of young people (mainly white young men) going from being anti SJW to turning into white nationalists in everything but name only. And it's having offline effects.

Some people believe that Alt-Rights appeared for the first time after a bunch of gamers boycott a feminist game developer back in 2014. That controversy is called GamerGate. The story is longer and more interesting

-Adobe Flash has been announced to be discontinued in 2020
-Not so much landlines (a lot of companies still use them)
-Retail cashiers (seen a lot of stores around my area putting in more self checkouts)
-Disc based video game consoles (rumors of the next xbox and playstation may be going all digital)

I think its a good thing files and media like games, movies, music, documents, etc. are moving to the digital side, at least your dad won’t pull a McJuggerNuggets with those disks  ;D
