Subject: When do the 2020s Really Start?

Written By: LyricBoy on 05/02/19 at 5:40 am

It seems that the culture and vibe 2019 and the 10s in general have run their course.

When do the 2020s start? Have they already?  ???

Historians and archaeologists have written that the 2020s start on January 1st, 2021. Since A.D. started with year 1 and not 0.

The 203rd decade A.D. starts with 2021, but the 2020s point out to any "202X" year. It's like how the 1900s (1900-1999) are different from the 20th century A.D. definition (1901-2000).

Alright, everyone stop being a smartass, you know what they meant.  I think that 2020 or maybe 2021, it certainly wasn't 2018 or 2019 as of yet.

Its first roots of the 2020s might hopefully start by Late 2019, and the transition from the Late 2010s to Early 2020s would be from Mid 2020 to Late 2021, hopefully. Then by 2022, it would hopefully be a pure Early 2020s atmosphere.

The 2020s better be good, the 2010s were ok in my opinion, but I REALLY HOPE there’s no awful trends bleeding in the 2020s like Mumble Rap. Its gotta be all Electro Swing, or a revival of Hip Hop R&B.

It should be another roaring 20s, with a mixture of Y2K, 80s, and 1920s.

exactly i really dont want most of the late 10s trends to carry over to the early 2020s!

Most the new trends started 2018/2019 so it's inevitable tbh. It wouldn't surprise me if we're already in the cultural early 2020s, especially if Trump wins in 2020 and Brexit gets delayed again lmao. It doesn't sound like the PS5 is coming out anytime soon either.

If the 2010s aren't over yet, I think we can at least all agree that the core 2010s are history. All that hipster indie progressive vibe of 2015 feels like it belongs in the history books already.

January 1st 2020.

If we are talking about the start of cultural early 2020s, it'll start to be noticeable in late 2019 or around 2020.

Most likely we will start to get hints and feels of early 2020s culture around fall 2019 - late 2019 but i think  it will take till 2021 for the early 20s transition to be complete!

All around the world, there are time differences from when the ball drops in certain areas.

Numerically and culturally.

Early 2020's start in 2020 (we're already seeing signs of the end of 2010's culture this year but not fully yet)

Mid 2020's start in 2024 due to the possible huge impact of that election.

I don't agree. I think the 2020s haven't started at all, and we are still firmly in 2010s culture. Give it until 2021 when 2020s culture begins.
