Subject: Early trap songs.

Written By: mc98 on 03/08/20 at 9:37 pm

Trap was very different from 2010-2013 due to their electronic, bombastic productions instead of the airy, minimalist trap sound of today. What are examples of early trap songs you can think of?

^ I hate to burst your bubble here, but our LM Catwoman has implemented a limit of 2 Youtube vids per post; this is for the courtesy of other users.

Please read it in detail here: http://www.inthe00s.com/index.php?topic=61139.msg3892144#new

Thanks.

Even trap songs that were dark at the time had a fast-paced, energetic, and bombastic feel to them.

It's not like today where most trap songs are bass-heavy, atmospheric, and as you said, minimalist.

I definitely agree. Trap in the first half of the 2010s had energy and hype. It would have stayed like that if it wasn't for the moody, bassy, ambient, downbeat kind of trap that started to take over in 2015.

Most likely. It astonishes me how trap became pop in the very late 2010s. Artists like T.I. and Jeezy must be proud of driving the genre forward to popularity back in the 2000s.

Yeap, even with a fast Wi-Fi connection, the videos still made downloading slow.

Trap started to have that heavy bass mumble feel in 2016.

Please limit the embedded videos to 2 per post and 3 photos per post. This INCLUDES anything within the spoiler function. But you can make as many posts as you would like.

The reason for the limit is that they don't load on some people's devices when there are so many. This is a courtesy to our fellow board members.

Thank you.
