You can hear this in video games, teen centered movies in the 2010s, spoofs, commercials

Does anybody else find it funny how it went from the late 80s/early 90s Hair Metal and Grungy rock 25 years ago, when it was the 2010s(specifically 1985-1994 turning 25 in the 2010s) to this soft melodic and nostalgic tune in the 2010s ?

Indie and hipster rock in the early 2010s (bands/artists like Gotye or Fun.) was probably the last breath that rock music ever took in the mainstream. Everything else afterwards was EDM, synthpop, R&B, or trap.

Post-hardcore doesn't get a lot of recognition. It may have only been on the fringes of the mainstream, but bands such as Pierce The Veil, Bring Me The Horizon and A Day To Remember had pretty big followings in their own right during the early-mid 2010s.
