Here are threads from 1999! Almost 21 years ago!! :o
It is fun to look back at old threads and have a read through the way people were communicating back then especially for me as a 2000s kid. This might not be anything new to old and dedicated users here but i know some people are gonna appreciate this the way i do and maybe someone here has more links or threads to offer from the past. It can be from any website! The internet is the closest thing we have to a time machine.

You should honestly archive the page through the Wayback Machine, just in case that entire forum happens to go under. What a great relic from the late 90s internet.

The thread dates to October, 1999. I was only 19!

I agree with Sman12 about archiving it. Who knows when and if it were to be taken down.

Not with that website unfortunately. I have come across some but i can not remember them now.

Omg... that reminds me of when I stumbled on to this one usenet thread from 1992!! It was about how people were convinced that Alternative Rock was going to be a short trend stuck in the 90s. People had like zero filter back then.

Google Groups has archives of Usenet threads going all the way back to the '80s. Usenet was a precursor to modern online forums.

This incarnation of these boards dates back to 2004, but there may exist an archive of the earlier versions. I was definitely posting on the earlier version in 1997/98

I posted on the earlier board too because I had to re register in 2004.

One of the earliest boards I posted on that is still there is rv.net. It is also nearly the same as it was 20 years ago and still extremely active.

Before I started here, I used to be a member of the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) Forum. The forum changed it format, and made it an unhappy place to be on, and on recommendations I came here. All of the BBC Forum was taken down, and nothing survives of it.

It was most likely Usenet, which is a type of internet that predates the World Wide Web. It got started in 1980 and was a discussion board much like this, except it was all text on a terminal.
