Restaurant chain Bar Louie, renowned for its “Gastropub” theme, is throwing in the towel and filing chapter 11 bankruptcy.  :\'(

Oddly enough, Bar Louie CEO Tom Fricke said in a statement. “Bar Louie is a profitable business focused on long-term growth with new investors”. So much success it’s in bankruptcy court.

It’s gonna be harder to find high-end booze with designer food now.  :-\\

For the last time: Chapter 11 doesn’t mean the end. It would probably terrify you to know how many airlines you regularly fly on that have been - or may currently be in - Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.

There is always the chance of another company buying over the company concerned.

There is always the chance of another company buying over the company concerned.

And in addition to that, the possibility of revolving credit, spinning off an unprofitable branch or subsidiary, etc. I studied this sheesh in law school - I’m by no means an expert, but I know a thing or two, enough to not be a doomer about Chapter 11 proceedings.

If a company is entering Chapter 7, on the other hand, there is a bit of a higher chance the whole operation is going to be sold for parts.
