Subject: Mini Mid To Late 90s Comeback

Written By: oldmusicfan on 03/07/20 at 10:56 pm

Is anyone enjoying Jagged Little Pill on Broadway, Sonic the Hedgehog returning in a big way, Tommy Hilfiger clothes in stores again, the Supreme collaboration with Holographic Tupac? What would you like to see from the mid to late 1990s return?

I wouldn't call it mini I'd say it's full blown. Don't forget the denim, larger clothing (although not as baggy as back then), chain necklaces and curtain hair that's popular nowadays.

I wouldn't mind if ska punk came back, ha.

The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac are rap legends in this time. Even Poetic Justice has risen from being a subpar 90s John Singleton movie to being a mid 90s masterpiece film in the eyes of Millennials and Generation Z.

The noise we have today that people call rap is nothing like 1990s rap.

Today’s rappers pump out garbage pining about “shorty” and sipping cough syrup from a double cup.

Guys like N.W.A. kept it real, rapping about smacking down mouthy hoes and pulling Glocks on anybody disrespectful.  Today’s rappers are wimps by comparison.

The N.W.A. were too mainstream in comparison to the real rappers from the 70s and early 80s who did not dress and speak in a certain way for the cameras.

I don’t remember any 70s rappers.

That’s because rap was underground.

Nevertheless today’s rappers are wimps compared to the old school guys.

Someone could say even the old school guys were wimps.
