I'm shocked a white guy has heard of those places :o ;D

The outbreak was mainly confined to the big cities, but Modi announced the lockdown haphazardly, and migrant workers in the big cities bolted for the exit all at the same time. The train and bus stations were overflowing and the virus spread among the passengers, bringing the virus to small villages throughout India.  ::)

The company I work for has a branch in Hyderabad. But it’s closed right now due to the situation. Our Vice President came back from there like 6 or 7 weeks ago. He had to go a different way than usual to get back. Thankfully him and all of us are ok.

As an immigration attorney, most of my clients hail from India. I work with a metric buttload of guys from Chennai, but several from a bunch of other places.

As India's day gets under way, here's a quick breakdown of its latest news:

One person inside the Rashtrapati Bhavan (Presidential Palace) has tested positive, local media reports say. More than 100 people have reportedly been asked to self-isolate.
Officials say that India's doubling time is increasing, meaning the spread is slowing down - it's taking an average of 7.5 days for cases to double now in comparison to 3.4 days a few weeks ago.
More than 1,000 Kashmiris who were stranded in Punjab state for 20 days were sent home after they were initially denied entry because of the lockdown.
Meanwhile, Punjab state will set up special quarantine centres for police, who have been on the frontline across India to enforce the lockdown.
India has confirmed just over 18,000 cases and nearly 600 deaths so far, according to data from the health ministry.

India has allowed small local stores to reopen a month after the country went into lockdown. The interior ministry said only half of staff could work and they had to observe social distancing measures and wear a mask. The government is attempting to gradually restart economic activity. India has nearly 25,000 confirmed cases and 780 people have died.

Well, that's certainly quick from them. I hope they don't have a surge of new cases, considering they have one of the most dense populations in the world.

India and Bangladesh are evacuating millions of people from coastal areas ahead of a super cyclone, which is approaching from the Bay of Bengal. Two Indian states - West Bengal and Odisha - are expected to be hit by Cyclone Amphan, along with parts of Bangladesh. It is forecast to make landfall in an area near the border of the two countries on Wednesday. While both countries have a lot of experience dealing with cyclones that develop every year in the Bay of Bengal, the coronavirus outbreak is making the challenge of evacuating people harder this time. Extra shelters have been prepared to allow for social distancing. Masks are also being distributed.
