People still talk about Kim Kardashian? ;D I guess the only reason she's still in the spotlight is because of Kanye West.

Perhaps not. But I think we have come to a time, unlike the era when the Kardashians first rose to their particularly noxious form of "fame", where lavish conspicuous consumption of this nature is seen as vulgar and distasteful. Robin Leach is dead and the days of "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" is long over.
