I don't think so, since there's trap metal where artists fuse trap music with heavy metal. You got Ghostemane, Rico Nasty, XXXTENTACION, $uicideboy$, etc. Heavy metal is pretty much rock music, so trap mixed with rock isn't exactly new.

Trap metal isn't a combo-genre of trap and metal actually. It's trap music with more aggressiveness and distortion. It's more similar to industrial music if anything, but has practically nothing to do with heavy metal bands like say Judas Priest and Metallica.
