Nothing can top 2020. I fear the rest of the decade will not be very eventful and exciting because of the huge shift in 2020 (which was the greatest shift since 2008). What do you think 2022 will be like event-wise and change-wise?

I'm ok with uneventful or exciting. I like how 2021 is low key and calm, and seems like going back to somewhat normal (depending where you live, in Southern US it's like the pandemic never happened).

Yeah it's just a bummer we won't get a "big shift" until at least 2033. We may get a 2006-like shift before that though. Nothing can top the pandemic of 2020 unless a literal world war happens  or an asteroid hits the earth.

I'm ok with not having another shift, at least not ones caused by catastrophic events like in 2020 or 2001. Shifts caused by cultural changes or accomplishments otoh (such as the election of Obama), are welcomed of course. As for 2022, maybe Timberland will make a comeback and produce and album by Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado.

2021 could be a turnaround of things getting back to normal after 15 months of wearing masks and social distancing.

I just saw a video on global news saying the pandemic is "far from over" and that they will be announcing new strains (that the vaccine doesn't protect against) in the fall. So I guess we have to prepare for another lockdown in the fall again?
