Subject: google peanut butter

Written By: allen (Guest) on 12/07/01 at 12:53 a.m.

Anyone have any pictures of google peanut butter or know where i can obtain a few?Or any more information on it.
I'd really appreciate the help here in Canada.
My favorite as i remember it when i was very young.
Just trying to recapture some of my childhood things that made it great to be a kid.Like my tonka toys. But that's another story.
Too bad it doesn't last forever.
peace.

I've got a picture of a Koogle can lid someone sent me (that will be going up on the site in the near future).. If google peanut butter is the stuff that came with the jelly mixed in, I have seen stuff like that at the grocey stores in my area still. Unless it's really old stock, I think you can still buy it

I was quite small in the early 70's about 5 or so when i remember this stuff here in Canada.
I know it's not available here.Likely some toxins in it at that time.
I remember there was different flavors of it just can't remember them.I know cinnamon was the best. But i also think there was banana and chocolate.
I know jif now has three flavors of their own out now.
I'd know the exact one if i found a pic of it.
I'm not sure if it came with jam or not,i don't recall it but it is possible it wasn't in canada.
I know the the ad was here come the goo goo googley eyes.
And i am not sure if google was the company that made it .
If anyone else has any thoughts please post them.

I think you mean Koogle peanut spread. It is similar to flavored Jif (or Skippy) peanut spread. I liked the commercials, but you would like watching spit fly if you were 9 years old like I was in the 70s. It didn't taste good, though. :P

"Koo-koo Koogley Eyes!"

Koogle Peanut Butter had Chocolate swirled in with it. It was actually kind of nasty, but we loved it all the same.
The guy next door to us was named Irving Koogle, and  his kids hated us, because every time we were around them we sing the Koogle Commercial to them! ;D

Boy howdy, I ain't never heard of Koogle.  Sounds pretty nasty, though!  I do remember eating Goober Grape sandwiches, and Fluffernutters.  Reese's puts out their own brand of peanut butter, but it's not so hot.

I prefer Skippy super Crunch which has a decent taste, Peter Pan smooth is bland, Jif is pretty good.  Bama makes a peanut butter jelly swirl.  When I worked in the kitchen at a Summer camp, used to mix up batches of peanut butter and grape jelly, looked like mashed prunes, and the kids said it looked gross, but they gobbled it up just the same :-*

Go to the website: www.theimaginaryworld.com and click on the "Tick Tock Toys" section.  You'll find Koogle and a ton of other really cool retro things there.

I'm a Skippy creamy man myself.  I love it on toast for breakfast.  While back I saw a scare report on teevee about hydrogenated oils.  I bought some of that all-natural PB, you know the muck with the oil foating on top?  I thought it tasted like chalk, so I went right back to my brand, hydrogenated oils be dangged!  ;)

Nope. Google Peanutbutter was flavored peanut butter that
was made in the early to mid 1970's. They had chocolate, vanilla and banana flavers. They was taken off the
market after poor sales.

WOW!  what a blast from the past.  thanks so much for the link. I had been trying to remember a particular brand of TV dinner I used to consume as a kid.  when you got to the bottom of each foil compartment (assuming you finished your portion), there'd be an engraved outline drawing of a cartoon character.  thanks to you I've discovered it was Libbyland!

Hello
I was doing a search for 'Koogle' peanut butter and found your forum.  I too was seeking to recapture some childhood memories.  To clear things up.... Koogle came in 3 flavors that I remember: Vanilla, chocolate and banana.  I don't recall Cinnimon, as a previously mentioned.  Banana was my favorite and chocolate was my brothers'

I agree... Skippy Super Crunch is the best.

Don;t bother with the low-sugar peanut bitters.  I;ve tried them and they taste like walpaper paste.  :P
