Subject: yet another unusual lyrics

Written By: Zella on 05/25/02 at 00:23 a.m.

I thought these up today over Carl's Jr. chicken strips, so I hope there are no duplicate lyrics that I don't know about.  ;D

1. plucked

2. graceless

3. sidecar

And a bonus word:

4. dewfall

Hi Zella

I think I have dewfall, but the other three I have no idea whatsoever....

Dewfall : Cat Stevens - Morning Has Broken

"Like the first dewfall, on the first grass"

PS  Your quizzes are hard ;)

This is probably not the song you're thinking of, but Don Henley's "The Heart of the Matter" contains the word "graceless".

I put that in for all the Cat lovers -- now don't you feel bad, stealing it from them?  ;)

Was that from the 70s? I don't even recall the song, myself. Gee, I thought "graceless" was the least likely of the three to show up in another song!  :-/

That is the one I was thinking of. Congratulations!

I guess it's time for some clues.

#1 was a top-40 hit in 1973. AM radio, however, omitted one of the verses, which contained very sexually explicit language. The word "plucked" appeared in a different verse that was always played tho'. (I thought someone would get this one very quickly! :( )

#3 was a one hit wonder of 1972, and was a very short song, being slightly over 2 minutes long.
