Subject: LETS MAKE A CHAIN SONG

Written By: guamanian on 06/23/02 at 08:56 p.m.

Hello Everyone, Recently I was amusing myself with my top 40 book, and I decided to try to create a chain song.  The first attempt was something like this:  BEAUTIFUL SUNDAY will never be the same old song and dance the night away. You get the idea? Obviously, the song the song has to have an ending word that isn't too difficult to begin a new song with. So lets see what we could come up with. I think the first try, we should keep it general and be able to use song titles from all the decades. We can narrow it down to specific decades later. I will start it off with "Love me do" by the Beatles. LETS HAVE FUN!!! Peace in the world, Hairy Guamanian Guitar playing Long haired patch collecting Hippie Busker of the world.

OK, so I'm mad.  What I do is come up with the first thing that comes in my head, and somebody says it's too hard!  For example, for "sky" the first thing I thought of was "Sky Pilot" and knowing that Charlie Dore had a hit in the 1980's with "Pilot of the Airwaves," I thought somebody would come up with that.

So to make it easy for you, I'm gonna post the next three.

Out in the Country--Three Dog Night

Hi Karen M

According to my "Guinness Book of British Hit Singles # 4" which I got from my sister as a present in 1983.....

Tight Fit was a 'UK - male/female vocal group"

Fantasy Island debuted on 1 May 1982 (when I was in Britain, as it so happens - right in the middle of the Falklands brouhaha) spent 12 weeks on the chart and made it to number 5 !

How the song went I have no idea......

It was the follow up single to their January 82 number 1 remake of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight".

FB  :)

PS  I wish, I wish I wish I had similar and more up to date books on Britain/America - it would answer Sooooooo many questions I have  :)

I know what you mean about people trying to screw this up for others by putting a song that is impossible to build on.  I'm sure I would have done the same thing you did.  :-/

Come on people, be fair to those who are wanting to continue the song chain!  Please think about the ending word of the song that you want to put down and make sure it is something that enough songs start with.   Thank you!

Thank you ?  You're welcome !  I agree entirely with your sentiments Karen_M and those of Zella's.  I too have re-started the thread and will continue to do so.  And I always attempt to make a song title where I know the ending can be built on, and if not, I don't post for a while in the hope that someone else can continue it - but if not - re-start it is......
