Subject: Gordon Lightfoot Ailing
I read recently that 70's folk singer Gordon Lightfoot isn't doing too well. According to the article he was "rushed to an Ontario, Canada, hospital on Sept. 7 and the next day had emergency surgery for a weak blood vessel in his abdomen". His condition at that time was serious and I haven't heard about any updates. Let's all hope that he comes through this alright... :'(

It sounds like he's okay (good news for someone who remembers Pussywillows, Cat-tails and Old Dan's Records when they were freshed pressed vinyl!) Scoped out Google and Yahoo news sites and it sounds like he had surgery for a weak abdominal blood vessel on or about September 13. It sounds like he cancelled a few dates, but most are going ahead as scheduled.

On gordonlightfoot.com there is a link to the hospital where he is recuperating...as of yesterday (Oct. 19th) the last update posted was from Oct. 16th and said he is slowly getting better but is still in serious condition....

Let's hope and pray for him 2 make a speedy recovery. The velvet smooth voice that brought us Daylight Katy, Sundown, Rainbow Trout and Too Late for Praying would be sadly missed.

He is my absolute favorite folk singer, and I wish him a full recovery. There is an update on www.gordonlightfoot.com, but he still seems to be a ways from being released from hospital care.

It's good to hear he's getting better. I had no idea he was still in the hospital. This must have been much more serious than it first appeared.
