Hello.
anyone out there remember URIAH HEEP??

Am curious if anyone out there would've seen these guys throughout the '70s on such bills as Three Dog Night, Rush, Kiss, Aerosmith... !!?

One of, if not the, first concert I ever saw (I don't remember if it was this one or Grand Funk and The Doobie Bros ???). ZZ Top, Earth Wind And Fire, and Uriah Heep, in that order. It was at the Roanoke, Va. civic center in '72. (No one there had ever heard of ZZ Top and they opened the show and blew the other two off the stage!)

They had two fairly big "hits" (FM R&R hits) in the mid '70s here in the states, Fuss. "Stealin'" and "Easy Living". Do either of those ring a bell?

Wasn't Uriah Heep a character in that book about famous magician David Copperfield?

"Uriah Heep was the name Gerry Bron
( manager ) came up with in 1970. In England that year a Charles Dickens anniversery was celebrated so the name Uriah Heep was heard quite often. The band, then called Spice agreed."

Don't forget "THE WIZARD" !!  And from their "Abominog" LP:  "That's The Way That It Is".

I was never really a big fan of theirs but Mick Box used to live here in my town in southern New Mexico -- he may still live here but I'm not sure -- anyway, he'd always have parties at his place whenever a good band came to the area.  His house has a giant guitar on the front lawn, made with colored rocks.  I don't even remember the last time I heard any of their music!  That's really a blast from the past!  I think they are supposed to be going on tour again... www.uriah-heep.com :D

Heh heh. Well, if you still haven't acted on that yet, then today you also missed their video for "Stay on Top", off of 1983's Head First. VH-1 Classic aired it during the "All Request" hour. First time I'd ever seen that video as well. Or was it you who actually requested it? ;-)
