yes, I remember a friend buying one on a school trip and then driving the teachers mad by talking to it as though it were a cat or something.  Never had one myself though

I remember making our own by painting a rock(had to be flat), glueing some googly eyes on and adding a pipe cleaner tail.
I think I had a whole zoo at one time.  :)

I must say, that whoever thought this one up was a genius. Put a rock in a box and sell it. He/she probably got rich off of the idea. We didn't have one but we did get my sister a "pet guoda" one time. She thought it was an animal at first and didn't realize that it was cheese. She was so funny. "How am I going to take care of this?" and other questions. We just laughed. Then she finally realized how to take care of it-on crackers!

My brother and I had pet rocks when we were little. We didn't get them in the store. We found them in front of our house and kept them as pets.

Kimmers, my uncle..the nut that he was (Bless you Jack), made one for me called the Rock Concert!!  He had the flat base, put 5 tall ones standing, added eyes and put a label on it.  I found it after Christmas this year..it's on display.  What fun!

I knew someone who had something like that. There were a bunch of rocks and one had a guitar glued to it, one was behind drums, etc. It was cute.
