Subject: looking for name & artist of song
I am lookinng for the artist and title of the song that starts out on Jlo and LLcoolj's song "all I have". I really like that song, but can't figure out who sings it or what the name of it is, any help would be appreciated. It starts out "loving life and life is living, very special"

You mean because you think they sampled from a 70's song and you'd like the original. Hmmm.... Perhaps someone else will recognize it and help you further. Good luck.

You're right, "All I Have" by Jennifer Lopez featuring LL Cool J does indeed sample an old classic, but it's actually from the early '80s, not the '70s. The song being sampled is "Very Special" by Debra Laws, a minor hit here in the U.S. in the Summer of '81. It was off her 1981 album, also titled Very Special. Fortunately, the album was just re-issued on CD this past November, for the first time ever...

Well, well - according to the March 1 issue of Billboard magazine, it seems that Ms. Laws has filed a lawsuit against Epic & Sony, the label & distributor of Lopez's album, respectively. Laws claims that Lopez & LL Cool J sampled the song w/o her consent, and is suing on multiple counts of invasion of privacy. When will these current acts ever learn, and at least try to give us some original music? ??? *sigh* ::)
