Subject: 70's question for ya

Written By: Trisha Hilliker on 03/31/03 at 01:47 p.m.

???
I've been tryin' to figure out the name of this song and who ofriginally sang it.  Here are some lyrics for ya.  Hope this works!

Give me the beet, boys
And free my soul
I wanna get lost in your Rock 'n' Roll
And drift away

Too easy.  That's "Drift Away" by Dobie Gray.  One of my favorite songs from 1973!

That's an excellent tune. No one else could do it justice, IMO.  ;)

I couldn't agree more. I have a version of it by Bon Jovi done live, and it SUCKS!! It is just SO bad.....no one can match Dobie Gray's version...not even my Jonny...

I saw part of the video this morning and I want to say that it's Uncle Kracker but I could be wrong.
For some reason when I first saw it, I thought Smashmouth.
So, take your pick.  Could be either one or neither.
