Any Tull fans out there?

My favorite album is Song From the Wood but I love their other albums too.

HELL YEAH!! Being a sax and flute player, I couldn't help but love 'em! My only regret is that the only time I got to see them live, I was so wasted that.........well, we won't go there but I hear it was a HELLUVA show ::). Its amazing that they can produce that musical genius you hear on the albums in a live preformance, but they do! It flips me out that while most R&R anthems are about love or the answer to lifes questions or partyin' til you puke, that one of the best is a story about a dirty ol' man coughing up his insides and checking out the "pretty panties as they run"!!
AQUALUNG
my friend!! ;)

I saw Jethro Tull play at Seattle Center Arena in '85.  Ian Anderson is quite a showman, he had that flute swinging like a martial arts weapon when he wasn't playing.  It was a fun show.

Never saw them live  :'( My sisters did and they all said that they do put on one hell of a show. I do, however,  have a video of them-their 20 years together. Some of it was videotaped live and others were music videos-but they do have interviews with the band.

I used to "baton twirl" my flute when playing on stage but I learned quick that you couldn't use too much oil on the connections after mine came apart and the bottom piece flew out on the dance floor and popped a "big ol', good ol' boy" between the eyes.  ::)

I have always loved Jethro Tull.  I bought their greatest hits CD a while back & I love to put it on while I am cleaning my house.  It really gets me going.  That flute is like a natural stimulant to the brain.  I love all his songs especially "Thick as a Brick".

"Let me tell you the tales of your life of
your love and the cut of the knife
the tireless oppression
the wisdom instilled
the desire to kill or be killed.
Let me sing of the losers who lie in the street as the last bus goes by.
The pavements are empty, the gutters run red -- while the fool
toasts his god in the sky."

I had Aqualung and Thick As A Brick and Passion Play and used to listen to them a lot. But what's weird is that a bought a copy of Songs From The Wood and never got around to opening it or listening to it. Eventually it became kind of a superstition thing. I had this cassette that I'd never opened or heard but that I carried around with me every place I moved to. It's weird.

My favorite track is probably "With You There To Help Me".  Remember when Jethro Tull won the first "Heavy Metal Grammy" in 1988?

Considering how many jaws dropped when Jethro Tull won the first Heavy Metal Grammy in 1988, frontman Ian Anderson doesn't take all that good care of it.
Anderson said it's nice to win a Grammy. "It's great that 6,000 people who vote in the Grammy system, will vote for their peers. It's nice to be recognized in that way," Anderson told AP Radio.
But Anderson said the actual trophy is tacky. "It's a little gold plasticky-looking thing," Anderson said. He said it's just not something you want to put on display for the neighbors to see.
"Such dreary things. They are horrible," he said.
Anderson admits he doesn't even know where the award is. His said his wife mentioned their son may have taken it to keep pencils in, or to impress girls.

I love that Aqualung song. And I once heard "Locomotive Breath" and it rocked. But Aqualung is their signature tune, hands down. JT would be nothin' without Aqualung.

Thick As a Brick has a cool title, but I've never heard it.

Well, let's bungle in the jungle... I'm going to see them in concert on August 7th and I can't wait.  So far there's about 7 of us going, and we're going to have a picnic with food, of course, and some beer and wine and if it rains (we have lawn seats) we'll just dance in the rain!  War Child is my favorite album by Jethro Tull.  It was put to good use when I was in college.

We just got tickets to see them on August 10th.  ;D ;D ;D Unfortunately, we were a little late in getting the tickets so our seats are going to be in "Nosebleed Central." Oh, well. I will be sure and bring a pair of binoculars. I am soooooo psyched. I can't wait.

I haven't taken the time to look at your "profile", but I'll bet anything that you're not a day over 22 or 23 years old to make a ridiculous, uninformed statement like that.  ::)
