Subject: Swinger Tips Press On Nail Color

Written By: AstringOfPoloponies on 04/21/03 at 05:01 p.m.

Any female 70s kid remember Swinger Tips  press on nail color ? I have been asking this question for almost two years with no results. I am trying to find out the name of the company that manufactured the product (Revlon, Maybelline, Max Factor ???)

They came in a packet and they were fingernail shaped adhesive in a color of your choice. You pressed them over your nail and filed to shape. They were the best thing ever because they NEVER smudged or chipped. Trust me, I will  understand if there are no replies because absolutely no one on any message board remembers these.

I remember that product... and i'm a guy!  :o  I can recall the tv commercials in and around 1977-1978 or so.  For some reason, "Lee Press-On Nails" comes to mind.  ???

Oh, I am sorry -  Swinger Tips weren't around in the late 70s I don't think. Lee Press On Nails are fake finger nails, not press on color for nails.Swinger Tips were adhesive tape, shaped like finger nails which you stuck on nails and than filed to fit your real fingernail. But thanks for responding. This has been the all-time toughest retro item for people to remember.
