Apparently, Robert Plant has said in an interview that, "It's been a long time, been a long time, been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time. Yes it has."

Just heard, Plant, Page and someone on bongos do an acoustic version of "Dance Hall Days" on the Howard Stern show.  The guitar playing was beautiful, and Plant sounded great but just a tad off key once or twice!

35 years eh, why it seems like just yesterday I first heard one of there songs (I think it was "Good Times, Bad Times").

There music never gets old. And hasn't it been like 22 years since John Bonham died?

At risk of dating myself, my mom weaned me on Zep when I was two and I still listen to them.  Until recently EVERY t-shirt I owned had "Led Zep" on it. Still have all my Zeppelin posters.  "ZEP" is also contained in my personalized licence plates.   :D

I can remember as a teen in 1980 (December?) delivering newspapers one evening and recall seeing front page news about John Bonham's passing.  Forever ruined my chance of seeing Zep live in my lifetime.  :'(

But as they say, the song remains the same.

I was fortunate to witness Page and Plant perform live in the mid 90's on a show that I was working on at the time, it was awesome !
I will add though that Plants 'I'm a big star' attitude was pathetic ! ::)

Yes, I saw Page and Plant in May 1995.  I quit my job to go see them because I figured jobs will come and go but I may not have another chance to see the closest thing to LZ as I could get! Besides, it was a crappy job anyhow.  :)

I lived in a remote area and it took two greyhound buses and a ferry crossing about 10 hours to get there.  Saw the concert, and hung around on the streets until next morning to take the same trip back.  Man it was a harsh trip, I was awake for most of the 35 hours or so that I was in-transit. UGH!  :P

But it was worth it!  Still have my ticket stub, concert shirt (which was a close call as I got the last one!!) and program all preserved.  My kid will be envious when he grows up.  ;D

On a side note, a good friend of mine has an autographed shirt by Page.  A friend of his was a roadie for that guitar greats tour in 1991 or 92.  The same tour that Stevie Ray Vaughn died in the helicopter crash.

Loved their explanation as to why they never did, or never will tour as Zeppelin again. Once JB was gone, it just wouldn't be Zep. It's almost sad to see some of these once great bands touring today with one or two original members, trying to recapture something that they never will.

(I have to admit that I'd probably be doing the same thing if I had the chance) ::)

Especially when it's not even the main members!

Case in point, Creedence Clearwater Revisited - without John Fogerty.  Or Slade II, without either Noddy Holder or Jim Lea.

Brian May and Roger Taylor continue to call themselves Queen.  And until Mickey Finn's recent death, he was calling his band T Rex - with (obviously) no Marc Bolan.
