Subject: sitcom background music

Written By: peanut77 on 07/31/03 at 02:48 p.m.

I'm trying to find the type of music they used as background for 70s sitcoms.  Does anyone know of any albums or groups?  Have any other suggestions about where to look?
Thanks for the help.

Most sitcoms didn't have background music, they only had laugh-tracks.  I would think your best bet would be to go to individual sitcom nostalgia sites and search for any info there.  Whether it was published and/or popular music at the time, they only had to give it credit once, there are few records, and if the song was public domain, it didn't have to be credited at all.  Good luck!  (fat lotta help, huh?  Sorry.)

I found a few  at Bearshare. Just type in TV Theme songs under search  and a bunch will pop up. I  have Chico and The Man, Sanford and Son,  Hawaii Five-0, Baretta, etc..
Hope this helps if you were actually looking for theme songs and not background music which I think would be impossible to locate.
