I remember hearing this when i lived in the UK in 1970
I can only recall snippets of the lyrics, and would appreciate it if anyone could post the lyrics to the song.

...interesting note (well, I thought it was) - this is actually the oldest written song to top the UK chart...it was composed in 1903...
...and you should really check out the awesomely mad version by Splodgenessabounds from 1980...
