Subject: Do you remember this 70's toy?

Written By: SafetyDance on 10/31/03 at 05:17 p.m.

I was a child in the 70's , in the late 70's when I was 8 or 9 years old, I had a toy called "Footsie", it was a huge fad (in MY school, anyway!) it was something girls had- it was a blue loop you put 1 foot in, there was a string that was tied to the loop and at the other end was a plastic red thing that spun around as you hopped the footsie around your ankle, I guess it was like a hula hoop for your ankle? It was was like jumping rope by yourself. There was a similar toy called "Lemon Twist" that had a plastic lemon at the end with beads that made noise inside. I used mine for hours! Great excercise! But I can't find it or a photo on the web anywhere!

Does anybody remember a toy from the early 1970's called "Magic Window"? It was ovular shaped, plastic, and transparent. It had blue and white colored sand like crystals inside it. You would hold the window in your hands, and shake it. The "sand" inside would make unusual, and beautiful, shapes and patterns. I always wanted one for my birthday,or Christmas, but never got one. Sniffle, sniffle!  :'(  Sincerely,S.B.

I think I know what you're talking about. I remember if you turned it around & around, it looked like the "Hawaii 5-0" wave.
