Subject: Whirly Bird Helicopter Toy?

Written By: Eric on 12/05/03 at 11:34 a.m.

Does anyone remember this toy? It was a helicopter that was attached to a rod about 3' long that was connected to a base. By remote control, the helicopter would encircle the base and could go higher or lower. Then a newer version was released that included a hook at the bottom of the helicopter and cars w/hooks on the roof that you could sweep down and p/u the cars. Does anyone remember this toy?

It was one of the best toys I ever had, would run home from school and take the copter off.  Sit for hours making it go up and down and going round and round.  It was cool because it was flying, I guess, looked neat too, all metal and detailed.  Wish I was playing with it now instead of this computer. :P

Oh yeah!  That was one of the coolest toys I ever had.  I used to see how much Lego it could lift.  :D  Here's a pic of it, although it was called "Whirly Bird" when I had it.
