I don't think there will ever be as diverse and quality body of music as we saw in the 70's . It's too commercial nowdays. Songwriting is secondary to looks and showmanship...and in alot of cases talent.

Yes I love 70s music - It's not my favourite decade but it had a lot of talent. Slade, T-Rex, The Boomtown Rats, The Sweet . . .

the Skids, Velvet Underground, the pretenders, Art Attacks,
Talking Heads, the Cure, the Fall, Queen, Pink Floyd.
