Subject: Who remembers Rodney Allen Rippey?

Written By: Stevie B. on 01/28/04 at 08:33 a.m.

He was a short African American boy who did commericals for the old "Jack in the Box" restaurants in the early 70's.  I remember him holding a hamburger, and singing a jingle that went "Make life a little bit easier, have lunch at Jack in the Box" or something to that effect. Does anybody remember this guy?  ??? Thanks for the memories! Sincerely,Steve.

I remember him. He guest starred in just about EVERYTHING. I wonder what ever happened to him.

I don't know. He kinda vanished from show biz. Even some people such as Gary Coleman, or Emanuelle "Webster" Lewis pop on on talk shows, or guest star on sitcoms, once in a while. I think I vaguely remember reading somewhere that Rodney Allen Rippey popped up on some MTV 70's special in the mid 90's. But I don't think I had cable during this period of my life, and thus I missed it.  :( Thanks for the memories! Sincerely,Steve.

Other parts of that jingle went-

"Pack up the kids, crank up the car, to Jack In The Box
Come as you like, come as you are, to Jack In The Box"

Well, he's still alive!  He was at the premiere of David Spade's "Dickie Roberts:  Former Child Star" movie, along with a lot of other former real life child stars.  Click here:  http://www.tinseltownonline.com/photos/item.asp?pid=2759&from=event to see them!   :)
