I know this was mentioned in an earlier post,but I am relatively new to this forum. I always wanted a pet rock, but never got one. I read online that the guy who invented the concept became very rich. My parents wouldn't let me get a real Pet Rock, you know the one that came in the cardboard box, I'm sure they thought it was a total waste of money since we had tons of rocks around our pool and flower beds!!  LOL!!!  

So I did what any 6 year old would do, I picked out and "adopted" my pet rock from large selection of strays that lived in my yard.  I even made him a leash out of some yarn.  I guess I wasn't a very responsible Pet Rock Owner, I have no idea what ever became of him, I wonder if he got off his leash and rolled away or someone with "Pet Rock Envy" took him from me.  If only I could remember where I last saw him.

Now 28 years later I'm sitting here overcome by guilt, picturing my poor little guy cold and alone sitting in a gutter somewhere... :P

I had a pet rock, but again, not from a box.  We used to paint the rocks we had with faces.
Then my uncle did one better, he made me a rock concert!  He glued 3 tall flat rocks upright onto a flat base rock.  Glued googley eyes and used a label...called it "Rock Concert".
I still have it, it treasured! ;D

Pet rocks were a trip.  This guy tried a new gimmick around the same time, but it never took off, a nuclear plant, lol I forgot what the deal was with it.
