Subject: Wonder Bread trading cards

Written By: 80s_teen on 02/27/04 at 02:12 a.m.

Everytime I smell grocery store bread, it reminds me of being 8 or 9 when I would reach into a new loaf of Wonder bread to get some type of card.  I don't believe they were sports related or Star Wars or anything.

What triggered the memory was seeing the "Blunder Bread" picture on lorac614 's profile.

Were these the cards?  I'm talking 1976-1978 ish.

I dunno know about Wonder Bread cards, but I'm sure they were more substantial than the bread itself.  I hear you can take an entire loaf of Wonder Giant size and squish it into a fistful you can fit in your mouth.  Never attempted it myself.
My mom would never buy Wonder, so I was psyched if I went to a friend's house and they had the magical substance of whiteness and air.  A Fluffernutter on Wonder really hit the spot!
:D

Hey, I remember the Wonder Bread cards!  But if memory serves me correct they came out in the 1970's too because I can remember collecting Hanna Barbera cartoons (one just like my avatar pic of Speed Buggy).  They had sports, and movie cards as well.
