Subject: Here with ANOTHER movie question...

Written By: 80s_teen on 03/20/04 at 10:18 p.m.

I was telling my sister-in-law about this site and how you guys had helped me remember SO much!!  She asked me to post about a movie that haunted her that she saw on TV when she was five (1976).  This could've been an older movie because she said it might have been in black & white--(or it was so traumatizing that she only perceived it that way).

Here are the details:

A woman is put in some kind of prison or detention center for women.  She finds a kitten, but has to hide it in a laundry basket or bin because it's not allowed where she is.  One of the other mean "prisoners" told the female guard or warden about the kitten, so the main character had to get her head shaved.

That's all that has stayed with her, but like the movie "Dirkie" (for me), it sure can stick with you when you are young and impressionable.

Let's see how you all can help us!!  Thanks a lot!!

That's a movie called "Caged" (1950) with Agnes Moorhead (Bewitched) who plays the warden. Its a camp classic.  :)

This link has a plot summary. http://www.burkfoster.com/films_Caged.htm
