Subject: behind the music 70's artists

Written By: james martin on 8/2/2000 at 12:11 a.m.

i was wondering has a lot of people been watching vh1's " behind the music" because they been profilng a lot artists from the 70's. like grand funk railroad,k.c.& the sunshine band, the carpenters, jim croce, thin lzzy, sonny bono, cher, donna summer, tony orlando, the partridge family, fleetwood mac, donny & marie, leif garrett, davd cassidy, gloria gaynor, etc.i cqan go on and on and on;but, you get the picture. in the next three weeks or more,3 artists will be profiled on vh1's show:peter frampton, styx, and a possibilty, cat stevens. there are lot more artists should be profile on that show. my choices are:journey, van halen, little river band, ambrosia, kansas, boston, abba? (i doubt it, but one never knows),kool & the gang, earth, wind, &fire, firefall, the eagles? (a good chance but that's 'til hell freezes over),and my personal favorite, paul davis. his 1978 hit"i go crazy" hi #7 on the charts and spent an incredible 40 weeks on the charts and landing him at the time in the guiness book of world records. a feat at the time once held by johnny mathis in 1957 with the song, "wonderful!" "wonderful!" if that's not a part of the behind the music, i don't know what is. who do think think that should be profile on "behind the music"?

I dont think Paul Davis has the endearing appeal some of these artists have though, but dont get me wrong I would watch the show about him and wish they would do one on him. Maybe he is more suited for TNN I dont know. But one thing is for certain as you may or may not know, Paul was severely wounded outside of his hotel in a gun shooting some years ago and ever since then we have seen
little of him.

i think your right aj, his story is probably suited for TNN because of his country background but so far there has not been anything on him at all because you have to had an impact on your own career. but since paul has disappear from the spotlight for a very long time, they probably thinks he's dead. sorry to sound brutal but, i hope he does either a TNN profile or do a vh1's "where are they now" while he's still alive because if an artist stays too long from the spotlight, he/she might unexepectly die without us knowing what they been up to since their last hit record.
