Just got done watching this movie and I have to say that it is worse than I remembered it. Slow and boring. What started it all? There was a cycle happening, which was evident. But what kind of cycle? Re-encarnation? People are not theorized to be re-encarnated with the same name and identity. No explanations of any kind where given to have this movie make some sense. Lots of lose strings too!
Ok. A vibrant young man with a succesful career in the 70's is approached by an old woman to basically ask him to come back to her. Wow. As the ending of the movie puts it, he had to kill himself in order to join her in a (I suppose) spiritual realm. ? Did I miss something?

This is one of the MOST romantic films ever. The point is that you are not supposed to know what started the chain. It is a never-ending circle, just as love is.

Reeves was never handsomer than in this movie! And everytime I see it (I have the DVD) I cry about his recent fate.

Great music, scenery and story!
