Subject: Chicago:Behind The Music update

Written By: james martin on 10/12/2000 at 12:34 a.m.

I would like to remind the people again that this coming Sunday @ 9EST, 8CT is the episode we've all been waitng for: a profile of the most popular, successful, truly, gifted bands of the last 34 yrs.: Chicago. I've posted ths response before; but, this is important that we, the public show our support by bringing this band back to public eye & back to radio (mostly Top 40 than a.c. radio). The promo Vh1 aired will be about keyboardist/songwriter/vocalist Robert Lamm's cocaine additions, the accidential shooting death of guitarist/songwriter/vocalist Terry Kath & how they almost broke-up soon after. Sadly, former lead singer/songwriter/bassist Peter Cetera will not be part of this program. I read somewhere that The interview took about 6hrs. & they had to trimmed out a lot of stuff & Peter was probably angry about it that his relationship with the band may have been permantely strained for good. Can someone find out is this story true because after 15 yrs. since leaving the band & not speaking to anyone (except keyboardist/guitarist/songwriter/vocalist Bill Champlin who sang background vocals on Peter's 1992 "World Falling Down" Cd) the scars has got to heal sooner or later because how long one person can hold a grudge against a band that you'll known all this time? It's got to end before it's too late. hopefully, Vh1 will do Behind The Music on him because when you think about: The Police/Sting, Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks, Chicago/Peter Cetera. He can tell his side of the story so he won't feel so hurt. What do you think? DON'T MISS THIS SHOW!!!!! Let's hope it won't be "Good For Nothing" sorry, I had put to a Chicago song in there.

No way! Peter Cetera isn't going to be included!?
That's like doing a show about Van Halen and not including Sammy Haggar or a show about Depeche Mode and leaving out Vince Clarke. What were the people who produced this show thinking?

As far as grudges go, just look at former bands like The Smiths, Credence Clearwater Revival, Van Halen - all these guys pretty much HATE each other and once in a while go to court to fight for royalties or copyrighted material, etc.

As far as I know, Peter will be featured on the show; but, it will feature some interviews of him from either 1986 or '88. So, it's better than nothing. The Depeche Mode Behind The Music did feature some interviews with Vince.
