Written By: ChuckyG on 2/1/2000 at 9:59 p.m.

I'm going to be working on the bands of the 70s pages real soon now, since I finally got the movies straigtened away, and I got the 90s bands working on the 90s site.. so my next step is going to be to create a list of the memorable and essential music groups/singers of the 70s..

aside from Led Zeppelin, who were GODS of 70s rock.. who else can you think of?

Here are some other groups that were very popular: Boston (who had the record for the #1 debut album for several years), Queen, Kansas, BTO, Grand Funk, The Eagles, and Rush. I'll also mention Blood, Sweat and Tears although I can't remember if their heyday was in the 60s or 70s. The Grateful Dead proved throughout the 60s, 70s and 80s that a band can have longevity and enormous fan support despite the lack of radio hits. I would also like to shed light on the pioneers of Jazz-Rock infusion such as Steely Dan and Chicago as well as on the pioneers of "shock rock" such as Kiss and Alice Cooper.
