Subject: The top 10 movie lists aren't always right *PIC*

Written By: Billy on 3/22/2001 at 9:13 p.m.

Well, I spent some time writing down 70s movies(that appeared frequently) from the "top 10 lists" written by people who come in this site.

I got "taxi driver", "the deer hunter" , and "chinatown", simply because they appeared so much on peoples lists. WELL, taxi driver was cool, but I don't see how ANYBODY could sit through "the deer hunter" or chinatown. These movies are so slow it takes a person(in the movie)5 minutes to piss, or 3 minutes to chew a bit of food LOL.

IMO, these 2 movies are on my top 10 worst list for the 70s! How about somebody putting in a top ten list people can TRUST, and get movies from?

if you're looking for action movies from the 70s, then yeah, those movies aren't going to be action packed thrillers like you're used to from the 90s.. those movies rank highly because of their content, not their action... Apocalypse Now would probably appear quite a bit on those lists too, but again, there's a lot of slow parts (like the last 40 minutes)

you want a fast movie, without much plot.. try "Smokey and the Bandit" or "Cannonball Run"

Well, I appreciate the info, but I do love movies with alot of plot. For example, I am an avid fan of Columbo(on 70s television). I don't mind slow parts, as long as they keep the movie watchable.

well, I think if you check movie critic lists, not just the lists here, you'll find that a lot of them have Chinatown and the Deer Hunter on them.. I haven't seen them in ages.. so maybe they haven't aged well..
