Subject: Backstairs at The White House

Written By: Tim Long on 4/18/2001 at 7:11 p.m.

This wonderful mini series ran in January of 1979. Based on a true story about a mother and daughter who worked as maids during the Taft - Eisenhower administrations. A great story of history. The book, My Thirty Years Backstairs at The White House is wonderful. Does anyone know how to get a copy of the mini series on VHS. Do you know how to get NBC to rerun the series. It only ran the one time. I was in junior high school and remember very fondly watching it for a history class. I would love to see it again or to own a copy. Ed Friendly produced and Michael O'Herlihy directed. Mr. O'Herlihy has passed away and I have had no luck reaching Mr. Friendly. I have also tried desperately to contact NBC. Any legitimate help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
