Subject: Does Anyone Remember?

Written By: Meri on 8/30/2001 at 9:22 a.m.

There was a song in the 70's about a blind man in the bleachers.. I am trying to find the name of that song. The guy sung about a blind man that used to go to sit in the bleachers of his games til oneday he was not there. He died. The song was a good one but for the life of me I can't remember the name. Any clues?

Sounds like "The Last Game of the Season (A Blind Man In the Bleachers)" by David Geddes. It's on Rhino Records' Have a Nice Day Volume 20.

Just for the record, it's worth noting that there were actually TWO hit versions of that song here in the U.S. It's true that David Geddes had the bigger hit version in the Fall of '75, but you may also be thinking of Kenny Starr's, which was on the charts at the exact same time (simply titled "The Blind Man in the Bleachers")...
