Subject: Skate boards of the 70's

Written By: Tbullsr on 04/24/04 at 8:03 pm

I loved to skate board in the 70's. One of the most popular types was 'Sims' I also had a yellow skate board called a Sizzler.  What were some of the other makers?

I recall three that I had - I believe they were all cheap ones, though.

Around '76 I got one that was off-white in color, slightly translucent.  Kinda cool.  I learned to skateboard using this board.

For some reason, I can't remember what became of that one...  ::)

Later, I got two identical ones, a red and a blue one.  I think they were purchased at the now-defunct Venture store (a K-Mart like store).  I used the red one a lot the summer of 77 and 78.  It must have broken, because later I only had the blue one to use.

I think the blue one is in deep storage somewhere  ;D
