I always hear it like that! (Or "Bingo Jed and Lionel.") ;D Of course, I know he's really saying "Big Ol' Jet Airliner."

Are you refering to the version that begins with "Threshold" (a cool number in and of itself), or the bouncy intro just before the singing begins?  I like them both, personally.   ;)

10 or 12 years ago, I would have said my favorite SMB song was "Fly Like an Eagle," hands down.  But that abomination on celluloid known as "Space Jam" has ruined that song forever for me (just one of the reasons why I hate that movie).  >:(

In light of the above, it was a toss-up between "Swingtown" and "Jungle Love," so I chose "Swingtown."

Fly Like An Eagle, because of it's groovy atmosphere, and it remindes me of being a little kid in the '70s, staying up late and listening to my little radio.

My friend Lisa would sing: "There go Chad and Lionel" which still makes me laugh.  I chose "Jungle Love", though.

Haha, I actually thought the lyric said, "Big-O, jet out of 'lina" (as in Carolina. When I was younger, I thought it was about taking a trip somewhere in a car with Big O tires. No wonder I could never find out who did it, LOL!). ;D

In any case, that would be my favorite Steve Miller song, hands down. Extremely catchy and a little more 'pop' than the typical classic/hard rock of the late 70's.

When a DJ finally announced the real name of the song, I was able to do a search and find out who did it, so I bought his 1974-78 Greatest Hits album in January 1999. Don't get me wrong, I knew about a few of his other songs before this -- "Rock 'n Me" was another favorite -- but it's hard to believe I didn't get into him till I was 17!

I choose "Rock'n Me" but for some reason the poll seems to be closed and I can't vote.

This song is associated in my mind with my own puberty and sort of coming of age. I was 13, nearly 14, when it was a hit over here, it coincided with the first time I kissed a girl and the usual body changes in a teenage boy! I realise that the lyrics have nothing to do with any of that, it's just evocative for me of that time.
