I love them all, but my favourite is 'So You Win Again'

'You Sexy Thing' for me - even though I still don't know what a 'mirko' is...!!

The intensely dark and moody 'Emma' comes in close behind...

Just to clarify...

Hot Chocolate spelled it "Every 1's A Winner"....don't ask me why, I guess they just wanted to be different.  That song got my vote, BTW.  8)

Hey Moo - you forgot "Disco Queen."

I actually own that record on a 45. Paid real money for it! Scary or what? :o

I'll go with Emma, tho'.

Every 1's A Winner got my vote.

This gives me a chance to trot out one of my favourite (some may say tiresome) anecdotes.

As a penniless student aged 18 living in London, I skipped classes one day and made my way down to BBC Television Centre.
My objective was to blag my way into the recording of "Top Of The Pops" because my teenage idol Joan Jett was supposedly on
the show singing "I Love Rock'n'Roll".  With no ticket to the show I somehow talked my way past security to the main reception on a spurious story about having lost my ticket. At main reception, a passing bloke spotted my Joan Jett badge and we got talking. He was a sound engineer on "Top Of The Pops" and took me into the studio where.....Joan Jett was nowhere to be seen but Hot Chocolate were onstage about 5 feet away from me rehearsing "Girl Crazy".

My escort had to go back to work and I was left standing next to the stage like a lemon, until the floor manager got suspicious, called security and I was escorted off the premises.

That's quite a story, Maddog!  Hey, at least you got something out of it, even if it wasn't your idol!  ;)

Well, I have to admit, I am pretty sure the last time I actually played it was March 29 1980, when I had my 10-year-anniversary-of-first-45-bought-so-play-all-and-take-36-straight-hours-to-do-it record party... ::)

Well, let's see...in 1980 I had the red record case and the red, white & blue record case, and the blue record case, and the orange swirl record case, and the gold & white record case, and the green record case and the brown striped record case and the demim colored record case. And they all held 50 records each, except for the r,w & b one, which was homemade (from a Tide box and after almost 30 years it still smells like detergent) and held about 60. So that is 410. Then in the early 80s I bought a lot of 45s at Goodwill etc., so added a pink, yellow, white, brown and blue checkered record case, plus have a few loose ones, so that is why I did not hold a 20 year party in 1990 - it would have taken too long! :D

I have mine in two similar record cases, plus a few loose ones, so I have a meagre hundred or so  :P

For me, it's their 1983 song What Kinda Boy You Lookin' For

I could listen to that all day.  Actually, I did for a few hours the other day 8)

So you've got...

Red, white and blue...another blue, orange swirl, gold and white, green, brown stripe, 'denim', pink, yellow, white, brown and blue check...

...sounds like a bad accident in a paint factory!  :o

I've got a few plastic thingies in a subtle shade of dull beige...it sort-of hides the dust!

I recently had many of my 45's from the 1970's put onto CD , and Hot Chocolate featured in a lot of the CDs.

My favorite is definately 'Emma'. Such a tragic and haunting song.

I also really have a huge soft spot for 'It Started With A Kiss.'
