Subject: REO Speedwagon Song Poll - 1970's

Written By: eightiesfan on 06/09/04 at 7:37 am

Even though this band was more popular in the 80's, Reo had some pretty cool songs in the 70's as well - if I had to pick a favorite, it would be "Roll With the Changes".  8)

(FYI : Bruce Hall is the one who sings lead on "Back on the Road Again".)

Though I have chosen "Time for Me to Fly", they were virtually unheard of here until (I think) 1980 when Hi-Infidelity was released  :)

I picked Time for me to Fly.  I didn't know these songs were from the 70's.  I thought they were early 80's, but I guess FussBudgetVanPelt was right, they weren't well known until the 1980.

They had an album out in 1978 titled "You can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish" -  I think that's where the songs "Time for Me to Fly" and "Roll with the Changes" came from.

"Time for Me To Fly" out of that bunch but "Take It On The Run" and "Keep On Loving You" are my true REO faves

I heard "Back on the Road Again" on the radio last night (long time no hear) and since I never voted on this poll...

1. Back on the Road Again (1979)  :)
2. Golden Country (1977's live version or 1972's original)

;)
