My favorite is "Candida". ;D

Corny to a fair extent, but there's no denying Tony had a fine voice...
All fine songs, but I've gone for 'Tie A Yellow Ribbon' for sentimental value...I didn't know the significance of yellow ribbons at the time...

Heh! It was a huge 'party' record, in so far as anyone could join in with it...I've only got to hear it and I'm immediately catapulted thirty-odd years back in time...
Same could be said for 'Knock Three Times'...

"Knock Three Times" is my favourite. :)
"Yellow Ribbon" was played so many times, I swear if I had heard it one more time I was gonna go out there and tie a yellow ribbon around Tony Orlando's neck. :P
"Candida" was an odd song. Why would he do a song named for a rather nasty yeast infection? When this song came out there was a porn star who went by the name "Candida Royale". :D

Knock Three Times is my favorite.
You know, LyricBoy, I often wondered why he named Candida what he did. The song itself is ok, I'm sure he could have come up with a better name than that.

I love Candida, but I'm going to say 'other' as I like "Summer Sand" just a bit better. :)

What was the significance of tying yellow ribbons to old oak trees, Paul? ???

In my deepest voice....it had something to do with the release of hostages...I think... :-\\

The yellow ribbon is a symbolic token of awaiting a loved one's return (whether or not it has to be wrapped around an old oak tree, I couldn't say...), in the song, the guy has just been released from prison, but in real-life at the time (1973/4) the Vietnam War was just about to wind-up and people adopted it as an 'anthem' for the soldiers' return...
Tho' I'm not 100% sure that any sort of mass yellow ribbon tying went on in the US about this time...
I think I saw one last when John McCarthy & Terry Waite were released from captivity some years back...
