WAR is one of the more underappreciated bands of the era and their will probably be no collection of musical talent that that WAR had. Their blend R&B, jazz, funk and Latin grooves came from the mixed racial and ethnic backgrounds of the band members that allowed War to experiment and create their own sound that was unlike any other.
Most people remember WAR for Low Rider but they had other successful tunes too.
My choice is other: "World is a Ghetto" with "Four Cornered Room" as runner-up.

Couldn't have put it better myself...great band...
My choice...'The Cisco Kid', closely followed by 'Spill The Wine'...but, like Three Dog Night (see elsewhere), the majority of their work was superb...

Low Rider for me - it just grooves.
But a VERY CLOSE second goes to Cisco Kid.
I agree War is a highly underappreciated band of their era.

I love WAR. I was lucky enough to see them in concert in the 90's. They were awesome and the whole arena cheered when they came out on stage.

War is a moody band. One minute it's "Why can't we be friends?" :),
and the next it's "The world is a ghetto" >:(
then it's something like "Lowrider". ;D
For their singles, I likes my War in this order...
1. All Day Music
2. Lowrider
3. Why Can't We Be Friends
4. Summer

I was FORCED to vote for my 2nd choice as my first because of no "Other" option! I'd have picked thier great 1976 release called "Summer" ;) I do love the uniqueness of the missed piano chord on "Why Can't We Be Friends" though....therefore it got my vote

Sorry, you're right, I didn't put an "other" for an option, nor did I put "Summer" either.
Summer is a great tune, as is Galaxy, which I left out too, sorry, it's my fist poll. :-[

It's a pain trying to cover all bases and don't forget to add "Other", too. They say there's a way to get more than the standard 8 (is it 8?) items listed in one of those poll setups? I've never tried.

why cant we be friends is the best...ive seen war in concert about 5 times and every time they sound awesome!!!!
