I saw this playoff game 5 in 1976....tonight it all came back on ESPN Classic. THAT game should NEVER have gone to overtime in the first place! The ref (Richie Powers) refused to call a technical foul on the Celtics that would've given Phoenix a free-throw to win it. Even the Celtics admitted they got lucky >:( I just HAD to get that out as this was looked upon as such a great Celtic victory...that should've NEVER happened!

An off topic...
I used to work with a person who owned a Skyline Chili restaurant. Somebody else at work, who didn't like him always referred to him as "Chilly Willy". It sounded familiar but I never knew where that name came from - until you started using it. After 15 years the mystery has been solved. 8)
Okay, back to your beef with the Celtics... ::)

I can still hear it "Gar Heard turn around jumper in the air, aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh". That was the greatest game in NBA history. I was so disappointed the Suns lost that game being a 15 year old Phoenician. That game had so many ups and downs. The Suns were basically out of it in the first half, but battled back to take it to overtime. Paul Westphal's quick thinking to call a time out when they didn't have any to get the ball at half court to set up the 2nd overtime. Richie Powers being attacked by a fan after calling for 1 second to be put back on the clock after the amazing leaping leaner by Havlicek. It still hurts watching the replays. :\'(

Back then I was 16 and I liked the Suns. I was still reeling from the merger and ultimately the end of....IMO...the more exciting American Basketball Association :\'( I always hated watching the Celtics win over all these years on the replay....but the other night when they went into more dtail about the botched NON technical foul call by Richie Powers >:(
