Subject: Nancy Sinatra's forgotten disco hit!
Written By: acshore86 on 10/02/04 at 3:33 am
Back in the 70's is when Nancy Sinatra started to slow down a bit and focus on her role as a mom and wife, but she every-so-often had some sort of a record gig going on. In 1972, she released her now-cult-and-rare LP "Woman" on RCA, but in 1976, she signed to Private Stock; very briefly. While she was at Private Stock, she recorded the sexually-explicit disco song, "Kinky Love." However, it created a problem for the company, when the catchy dance groove was filled with so many inuendos that radio stations refused to play it, apparently, but it became an automatic #1 underground smash in many of the disco clubs. Does anybody remember hearing it in the late 70's?!
Also... believe-it-or-not, it is the most sought after Nancy Sinatra single searched for, and when it was finally issued on her best love songs CD "Sheet Music," many independent disco and oldies radio stations picked it up for airplay.
