To me, the 70's seem to have the best tv theme songs.
My three picks would be Chico & the Man (performed beautifully by Jose Feliciano), Welcome Back Kotter, and Those Were the Days from All in the Family. :)

They were all good! But, I voted for Maude (by the late great Donny Hathaway), Good Times, and Welcome Back, Kotter. Sanford and Son wins for best instrumental theme song.

'Kotter' for me...a typical good-time Sebastian song - sadly, I don't remember much of the prog (had a very weird time-slot here...)
One from our shores, the wonderfully stirring 'Eye Level' by Simon Park & His Orchestra...theme to the very popular series 'Van Der Valk' about a Dutch detective (of all things...!!)
I'd've also had 'Hawaii Five-O', but I think that was more late-60s...mind you, by the time we got it, it was the 70s...!

My favorite theme songs are: The courtship of Eddie's father (people let me tell ya 'bout my best friend) and Nanny & The Professor (since the day that nanny came to stay with us, fantastic things keep happinin', is there really magic in the things she does).

Hmmm, I went with Chico and the Man first - what a classic! Then I picked Welcome Back Kotter - always loved it. Finally I had to go with the Partridge Family - an early favorite and my favorite show at the time ::)

For Other I'm going with the theme from "Taxi" called "Angela". I also like the theme song for WKRP in Cincinnati. Not because I think it's a great song, it's just every time I hear it I know an old show I like is coming on.

I voted for M*A*S*H*, The Jeffersons, and Rockford Files but I also like WKRP and (as alwayssearching said) The Courtship of Eddie's Father.

I go with the Rockford Files from your list.... but i have to put Starsky & Hutch Season 2 theme up there with it too. Oh, and The Incredible Hulk as well
